Graphic Designer

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to join our marketing team!  The successful candidate will need to be able to convey key messages graphically and convert design briefs to an exceptional creative standard while ensuring they are on brand and produced on time. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graphic Design graduate or a creative individual with at least one years’ design experience to get their teeth stuck into something exciting. This role will offer you the opportunity to develop your expertise in both digital and print design as well diversifying your marketing techniques.

Supporting the Marketing Manager, you will be converting design briefs into professional marketing communication materials while keeping within the brand values. You will be communicating these key messages in both graphical and infographical formats, as well as composing brand graphic elements to be used within brochures, case studies, posters and the internet. You will also be involved in the design and production of data sheets, posters and exhibition graphics, along with other print materials. Another key part of your role will be liaising with other departments to ensure impactful marketing material as well as capturing and editing photos and video.

Required Experience & Skillset:
  • At least one year’s graphic design experience.
  • Hold a degree in an appropriate Graphic Design qualification, or have suitable on-the-job experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suit (In-Design, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Experience of working to a predefined set of structured brand guidelines and business processes.
  • Knowledge of video production, image composition and photo editing.
  • Confident with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Quick learner. Able to quickly get up-to-speed on technologies, techniques, software and skills.


Desirable:

  • Experience with other software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, WordPress CMS, Dotmailer or MailChimp

Market Researcher – 6-12 Month Placement

We are a rapidly growing technology company based in Fareham, focused on the design and manufacture of specialist computers and integration of complex computing racks. We are seeking enthusiastic undergraduates for a 6 – 12-month placement to help us research technology advancements and customer demand in our target markets in aid of product growth.

Ideally, you would be an outgoing student who is passionate about technology and market research. In the role of Market Researcher, you will be a key member of the Product Management team, assisting by undertaking important customer and competitor research. The placement offers an excellent and exciting opportunity for someone who, like our clients, is willing to push boundaries and apply pioneering new methods to achieve and deliver outstanding results.  If you are passionate about developing solutions that meet customer demand and are looking to enrich your experiences within a B2B environment whilst being mentored and provided with clear missions, goals and targets, this is the placement for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake structured market and competitor research across a diverse range of market sectors.
  • Research potential customers and applications within market sectors and segments for specialised computing, tablets and rack infrastructure products.
  • Conduct primary research directly with customers and prospects by telephone and email.
  • Great opportunity to be involved in occasional special projects and research new media sources and marketing channels, such as exhibitions and events, domestically and internationally.
  • Tracking and analysing findings, compiling the information into structured reports which you will present to the Product Management team.
  • Conducting secondary research.
  • You will be a key contributor in statistical analysis, data collection, drawing meaningful interpretations and reporting of findings.
Required Experience & Skillset:
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English.
  • Studying towards a degree in marketing or business with marketing modules.
  • Analytical thinking, curious, eager to learn and have your ideas listened to.
  • Ability to confidently engage with a range of people on an international basis.
  • Experience in market research would be highly beneficial.

Sales Support Executive

We are looking for a Sales Support Executive to join our busy sales team!  This role will suit a confident individual who is looking to start and develop a career in sales.  This opportunity will provide the successful candidate a clear career path from sales support through to B2B sales in a high technology industry.

To provide a great foundation, in year one the Sales Support Executive will be trained in all areas of the Captec sales process with a strong emphasis on customer related support activities. This will include order processing, quotations, appointment setting and general support of our internal and external business development teams.

In year two, we are looking for the successful candidate to migrate into a direct sales role joining the internal sales team, holding their own revenue target and contributing directly against the company business plan. This will include achievement of targets, key performance indicators (KPIs), forecasting capability, understanding of customer requirements, strategic objectives and target customers.

Subject to success and performance in year one and two, the opportunity for progression to a field-based sales role will become available.

As well as being supported by all areas of the business, you can expect to receive a thorough training plan to help you learn about our company, products and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and arrange appointments for Business Development Managers on key corporate accounts and suspects.
  • Input of accurate sales records into our CRM database and customer folders.

Desirable:

  • Experience in working to ISO:9001 standard.
  • Previous experience in a B2B sales environment in a technology-related field.

Senior Compliance Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Compliance Engineer to join our growing technology company based within the Fareham area. If your focus is ensuring products meet international regulatory standards and EU directives,  we would love to hear from you!

As our Senior Compliance Engineer, you will have at least five years’ experience working with design teams on products within the computer, defence or marine industries or similar, and ideally as a senior function holder. You will work with our engineering teams to ensure products meet customer and market requirements across a range of technologies and industries. You will also be involved in the design and qualification of mechanical and electromechanical products for use in industries ranging from medical and oil and gas through to military and transport.

You will be instrumental in making a real contribution to the business by advising the design teams and customers on product compliance requirements and how best to achieve them. Your expertise will be relied upon to help us navigate our way through international regulations correctly. You will also ensure products comply with customer and legal requirements while meeting specification. Help will be on hand in the form of a Junior Compliance Engineer, who you will be responsible for mentoring and leading, although ultimate responsibility for the compliance, verification and validation of products will be yours.

This role will require you to control and maintain compliance of the company’s products to applicable national and international regulatory standards including EU directives, FCC, UL and defence standards. You will be responsible for creating technical files and declarations to confirm compliance with required standards. In this role, you will also conduct and document product safety assessments as well as product verification testing including electromagnetic interference, shock and vibration, ingress protection  and noise assessment, amongst others.  The nature of projects will vary greatly and involve electromechanical design, system integration and innovation based around computing solutions.

Required Experience & Skillset:
  • Five+ years’ experience as a Compliance Engineer working on electromechanical designs and computer-based products.
  • Comprehensive understanding of EU directives (CE) as well as UL and FCC including EN 62368.
  • Practical application of EU low voltage (2014/35/EU) and EMC directives (EN 55032 / EN 55024) as well as RoHS, REACH, COSHH and WEEE directives.
  • Recent experience in the setup and use of test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers for the purpose of production verification.
  • Experience working on products designed for the defence, marine or medical sectors is a distinct advantage as is a working knowledge of DEF STANs 59-411, 00-35, 08-107, MAP 01-470 and EN 60601.
  • Ideally an engineering bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline.
